Scholarship

We believe that Phi Mu offers you a place to belong and be successful. We expect all members to be the best that they can be and to truly have pride in our Sisterhood. Achieving academic excellence is a high priority for all Phi Mu chapters. Each new and active member is expected to obtain a 2.75 semester GPA. We work hard to make sure our new sisters transition smoothly from high school to college while making studying fun.

Older sisters offer help to the younger sisters in the form of tutoring, mentoring, and advice on professors and classes. We have an Academic Excellence Chairman who focuses on striving to aid sisters in their academic achievements. She works to bring information about academic resources available on campus to our chapter members. This information is invaluable to women beginning their college career. Grade point average goals are set and chapter rewards and incentives programs are planned. Proctored study hours are set for members based on semester grade point averages. In addition, each semester one chapter meeting is devoted entirely to Academic Excellence. Furthermore, we currently have sisters involved in a variety of honors and major-specific organizations on campus.

The Phi Mu National Association awards over 85 scholarships, totaling over $85,000 to Phi Mus around the U.S.  Phi Mu was the first NPC group to endow a fund through the NPC Foundation for Academic Excellence. This fund not only helps our chapter but provides guides, challenges, and programming for College Panhellenic across the country. Phi Mu encourages us throughout our college careers, from beginning to end, to strive to become the best we can be.
